Fallston theater8/29/2023 The business was carried on by the founders' descendants until the 1930s. Their business was successful and in 1876, the Kennedy brothers established a second plant in New Brighton, Pennsylvania. The business later changed into a nail keg, and still later into a lead keg, factory. In 1836, brothers Matthew T Kennedy (1804-1884) and Samuel Kennedy (1810-1886), sons of Thomas Kennedy (1782-1821), an Irish-born wheel and spinning wheel maker, went into business building cabinets and doing wheelwright work carried on by water power. It continued publication for more than 86 years (with various changes in name and management over the years). The Beaver Falls Union and Beaver County Advocate was the Gazette's successor, starting publication in Jan 1838 when it published its last on, the Western Argus, which started publication in 1818 elsewhere in Beaver County, attempted and was mainly successful in taking over the Advocate's readership. It was not able to sustain itself, and ceased publication in Nov 1836. On, the Fallston and Brighton Gazette newspaper started publication in Fallston, one of the earliest newspapers in the county. A post office at Fallston was established. The borough of Fallston, the largest manufacturing center of its time in Beaver County, was incorporated by an Act of the Assembly in 1829. The Harris's Pittsburgh Business Directory for the year 1837 states "This place and the surrounding neighborhood, bids fair to be extensively increased, in consequence of the immense mineral and water advantages which it possesses." The narrow space between the hills on either side and the Beaver River was dammed at the lower falls the water power allowed Fallston to achieve great importance as a manufacturing center. It lies on the west side of the Beaver River immediately opposite New Brighton, Pennsylvania and about a mile below Beaver Falls. It is a part of the Pittsburgh metropolitan area.įallston takes its name from a waterfall in the Beaver River. The population was 255 at the 2020 census. I will redesign your lobby for FREE.Fallston is a borough in Beaver County, Pennsylvania, United States, along the Beaver River. I try to support mom and pop shops, I do, but this theater has to do better. The tray was ready to fall into my lap any second. And forget using the tray! It was broken. When we finally got to our seats, my reclining chair screamed every time I adjusted (Theater 4, Seat A1). Based on my observation of the safety hazard “waiting area”, this is typical of every order. Not even close! We waited 20 mins for (2) orders of chicken fingers and fries. Confused? Wait until you experience it for yourself!Īnd the icing on this rotten cake is the wait times for the non-popcorn food order. While waiting at the cashier stand, my niece realized that we had to grab the popcorn from the concession stand before proceeding to the cashier stand to place our non-popcorn food order. My nieces and I made the mistake of trying to order at the snack stand but was told we were to proceed to the cashier stand. There’s a 4 x 5 sign in front of the cashier (because that’s helpful). And there are NO SIGNAGE to assist you on your quest. The answer to the that question is actually quite complicated. Instincts would tell you that you should choose food prior to heading to the concession stand. Rounding the corner from the “ticket stand”, you have two options - cashier stand straight ahead OR food to your right. The design of the lobby/concession area is an abomination. As a New Yorker, I know I need to manage my expectations outside the city but if I were to describe this theater in one word, it would be INEFFICIENT.
